ian, thornley, albatross, americanMulti-platinum selling Canadian rockers big wreck announced they are hitting the road to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of their debut album “In Loving Memory Of” (True North Records). “In Loving Memory Of” garnered the band’s first three Top 10 singles, “The Oaf”, “That Song” and “Blown Wide Open” and earned a double platinum certification. The 35-date North American tour will see Big Wreck playing “In Loving Memory Of” in its entirety in addition to fan favourites from their vast catalogue of music. The Canadian leg of the tour will kick off January 18, 2018 in Peterborough, ON and wraps on March 10, 2018 in Los Angeles, CA. Also announced, Friday, November 3, will see the release of the band’s third single “Digging In” from their successful fifth studio album “Grace Street” (Ole Label group / Anthem Entertainment Group).
“It was obviously an important album for us because it was our first, and really put us on the map” says frontman Ian Thornley. “I think the record stands up today as well as it did then. The songs still resonate with us as much as the more recent albums. It will be fun to play a lot of these older songs that we wouldn’t get a chance to play in another setting, and a great opportunity for fans to hear them live. Can’t believe it’s been twenty years!”
