Rock District brings Bahamas Earthtones tour to Kelowna’s Waterfront Park Island Stage Amphitheatre.
Performance will be supported by Kelowna’s very own Yukon Blonde.
On July 17th Bahamas Earthtones tour will be making a stop at Kelowna’s Waterfront Park – Island Stage. Supporting this performance will be non-other then Kelowna’s very own Yukon Blonde (formally known as Alpha Baby). Singer/guitarist Afie Jurvanen has been a sideman for indie luminaries like Feist, Jason Collett and Howie Beck, but his solo work under the moniker Bahamas offers a breezy sure-handed blend of sun-kissed folk and alt-country. Jurvanen’s promise as a songwriter was established on his first two tasteful, Juno-nominated full-length releases – 2009’s Pink Strat and 2012’s Barchords – which held evocative turns of phrase, restrained instrumentation and a captivating repose. His latest full-length release – Earthtones was inspired by his long time manager and confidant Robbie Lackritz, and it really is a stunning endeavor that Okanagan’s won’t want to miss out on.
