Cirque Du Soleil cancels Axel performances in British Columbia due to COVID-19 pandemic
Vancouver, BC (March 13, 2020) – In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and following the World Health Organization and Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation of social distancing, all performances of Cirque du Soleil AXEL in Victoria, Abbotsford, Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George have been cancelled.
All tickets purchased at Select Your Tickets via the internet or phone sales will be automatically refunded to the purchasing credit card on file. In person sales will need to visit the Select Your Tickets Box Office to be refunded. If you have any further questions, please contact Select Your Tickets at 250-220-7777. Ticket buyers who bought their tickets through Ticketmaster will be issued an automatic refund on the credit card used to purchase their tickets. No further action is required.
Cirque de Soleil’s Touring Show Division is currently revisiting tour plans for both AXEL for the remaining of 2020.

An inspirational and musical storyline
Axel, a young graphic artist and musician, dives into his hand drawn universe as he falls in love with the captivating Lei. Together they jet off on a fast-moving quest to retrieve the stolen light from the supervillain Vï. In this epic fantasy, graphic art and music intertwine to create the super charged world of AXEL.
In Cirque du Soleil AXEL, the music serves as a narrative thread guiding our characters and our audiences as they journey with Axel and Lei to discover that true love shines even brighter that the most radiant star. Inspired by the atmosphere of big arena concerts, AXEL is a high-energy and exhilarating experience where acrobatic and skating performances are supported by Axel’s pop music, visual effects, lighting and laser show.
